Hannibal Board of Public Works, established in 1903, has been providing a variety of public utility services to various communities. Located in Hannibal, Mo., it is managed by a four-member board, which oversees municipal utility operation, planning and financial aspects. The board serves more than 9,000 electric customers and over 7,500 water and sewer customers. Hannibal Board of Public Works offers more than 150-miles of water pipelines, and its electric distribution system consists of over 150-miles of power lines. The board also offers drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, sewer collection systems, underground storm-water drainage systems, and maintenance of floodwall pumps.
