Grossman Iron & Steel is a third-generation, family-owned and operated company that is a leading buyer and processor of scrap iron and steel. Abraham Grossman founded Grossman Iron & Steel in 1920. Grossman's roots go back to a small wooden shack on an empty lot. It has since grown to include a scrap processing facility that covers 22 acres near the bank of the Mississippi River, just north of downtown St. Louis. The company is one of the largest purchasers and processors of scrap metal in the St. Louis area and an industry leader in the Midwest. It sells ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. Grossman's service to its scrap metal industrial and commercial customers includes helping them recycle non-metallic scrap such as cardboard, wood pallets and plastics. The company has installed balers and compactors at some customers' plants.
