The Glass Workbench is located on historic South Main Street next to Boone's Colonial Inn and Market in a building built around 1920 by Presbyterian church leader Thomas Lindsay. They sell all types of handcrafted glass objects, including but not limited to vases, lamps, frames, candelabras, ornaments and decorations. Their employees are masters at creating glass art, and use over 500 different colors for their glass creations. Purchasing their handiwork is great, but learning how to make your own is even better, as they offer a plethora of classes throughout the year. Some classes are staining glass, fusing glass, various types of mosaics, lamp-making, soldering and glass-cutting. Members of classes receive discounts at store on materials and items.
