Established in 1957, Central Christian School is a coeducational school for students in prekindergarten through grade six. It offers a learning center program that provides assistance to students with learning disabilities. Its prekindergarten curriculum includes reading readiness, social studies, language and spelling, Bible studies, mathematics and science. For students in grades one through three, reading instruction is phonics-based, with some whole language exercises. Mathematics includes simple addition and subtraction through multiplication, division and algebra-readiness. The curriculum also includes language arts, social studies and handwriting. Higher classes are also taught literature-based language arts, long division, advanced fraction work, geometry and prealgebra, and social studies. The school also offers various extracurricular activities, such as instrumental music, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, after school sports teams, and chess club. It also offers various athletic programs, community service activities, and field trips. Central Christian School is located in St. Louis.
