True to the knight's shield that greets all who come to the Rockwood Valley Middle lobby, this school's staff, faculty and students try to employ the traits of safety and orderliness the knight represents every day in this educational setting. The school even has a Knights of the Round Table ceremony. Rockwood Valley is recognized with the Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education and is a Missouri Gold Star School. The school was named a Top 10 school based on the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) for many, consecutive years. The school's Concert Band traditionally performs at the St. Louis Cardinal's baseball game chosen to observe Rockwood Schools Foundation night.
