Able Learning Center, located in Jefferson City, MO, has been dedicated to promoting literacy in the community since its establishment in 1985. Through personalized one-on-one tutoring sessions, they provide free services and supplies to adults aged 16 and older who are not currently enrolled in school, helping them improve their reading ability and change lives every day.
As a United Way Agency, Able Learning Center relies on funding from their annual Used Book Sale, held in partnership with the Missouri River Regional Library, along with additional support from the United Way. With a centrally located office on Jeff Tran bus line, they also offer a special middle school program, where select 6th graders at Thomas Jefferson and Lewis and Clark middle schools receive on-site one-on-one tutoring sessions with ABLE volunteer tutors during the school day.
