Meridian Police Department
The Patrol Division is a part of the Meridian Police Department, which is administered by the government of the City of Meridian in Mississippi. The division works on 12-hour shifts through various platoons. The Meridian Police Department is a full-service, professional law enforcement agency serving the needs of the residents of the City of Meridian. The department employs more than 100 part-time and sworn staff members. It serves a population of over 35,000 spread over an area of nearly 45 square miles. The department also specializes in handling traffic crashes, crime investigations and weapons of mass destruction. The Meridian Police Department participates in various community projects, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
