College of Veterinary Medicine has been operational for more than 45 years. A part of Mississippi State University, the college enrolls more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students annually. It is approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and Council on Accreditation of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International. The college offers courses in various fields, such as infectious diseases, toxicology, pathology, aquatic medicine, avian medicine, production animal medicine, veterinary technology, anatomy, bacteriology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, parasitology, pharmacology, physiology, virology, food safety and biostatistics. Its department of clinical sciences provides courses in small animal surgery and internal medicine, anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology, neurology, radiology, and equine surgery and medicine. The college is located in Miss State, Miss.
