This sprawling, 160-acre preserve features a number of trails that wind through woodlands and marshes and up to the serene Westwood Lake. Visitors should not be surprised to spot a wild turkey or one of a number of other birds. The nature center also features an interpretive center, which holds events for elementary classes and other groups, as well as a picnic area. Be sure to check out the annual Halloween party and to rent snowshoes in the winter.

Armatage Neighborhood Center

Soccer, hockey, football, baseball, tennis and skateboarding are only some of the activities available at Armatage Park. Meanwhile, inside the recreation center, a vibrant seniors group thrives. The center also offers classes like crafts and provides space for meetings.

Kenny Park

This almost 10-acre park hosts a variety of athletic facilities that serve the neighborhood, including baseball, tennis and softball fields, as well as a half-court for basketball . There's also a playground and wading pool for younger kids. Located between Kenny Community School and Susan B. Anthony Middle School, the neighborhood center hosts a variety of activities, including playgroups for younger kids or martial arts for their older siblings. The park (and surrounding neighborhood) is named in honor of Sister Elizabeth Kenny, according to David C. Smith's historical account of Minneapolis parks.
