Located in Wabasha, Minn., the Wabasha County Department of Social Services is an agency directed by law to assist citizens whose personal and family resources are not adequate to meet their basic human needs. It works in partnership with the federal government, county, and other public, private and community agencies throughout Minnesota. The department administers various social, medical, financial and child support programs for county residents. The Wabasha County Department of Social Services offers adult and child foster care, chemical dependency assessment, child protection, crisis intervention, and mental health and general case management services. Additionally, it provides respite, supported employment, personal care, and habilitation and training services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
