A trattoria is the more modest and casual sibling of the Italian ristorante, but the simple comfort food of Tosca was delicious enough to merit it being named one of the City Pages' Best New Restaurants of 2009. Tosca only serves in the evening, but seating is open to daytime patrons of the much-celebrated Turtle Bread Company to which it is adjoined. Almost all ingredients used are from scratch, much of which is organic and locally-grown on the half-acre garden located near owner Harvey McLain's other Turtle Bread location.
