University National Bank, with assets of more than $100 million, is a chartered financial institution that serves inner city residents in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. University National Bank was founded in 1962 and operates from a single office in St. Paul. The bank is Minnesota's only F.D.I.C.-insured, community development financial institution. Throughout the United States, there are fewer than 50 of these specialized, insured financial institutions whose objective is to serve economically disadvantaged markets. It offers customers a variety of financial products and services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, business banking and Internet banking. University National Bank is a subsidiary of University Financial Corp., a single bank holding company based in St. Paul.
