The Science, Technology and Engineering Preparatory Academy is a newcomer to Inver Grove Heights, having opened in September, 2011.
The charter school is currently led by Executive Director Walter Novillo and School Board Chair Jeffrey Olson. The school is focused on preparing its 6-12 grade students for post-secondary education, and plans to collaborate with area colleges and universities so that its students can earn college credit while in high school.
The school's Inver Grove Heights campus is located in a quiet neighborhood overlooking the Mississippi River. The charter school is authorized by Anoka Technical College and currently has 208 students and 23 staff members.
