Founded in 1969, St. Paul Academy and Summit School is a coeducational, nonsectarian, college preparatory day institution for students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 870 students. Its academic curriculum features classes in a variety of subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, as well as French, German, Chinese and Spanish. St. Paul Academy and Summit School administers art, music, band, orchestra, choir, drama and physical education programs. It operates book, business, film and intercultural clubs. The school maintains various library facilities that house books, videos and DVDs, as well as offer online resources. It provides communication, problem solving and analytical skills development classes for students. The school also offers a range of advanced placement courses. It has a parents association that sponsors nonathletic and after-school activities for students. In addition, the school provides opportunities for students to participate in basketball, soccer, volleyball and football. St. Paul Academy and Summit School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
