Prairie Village Pet Hospital, the oldest in Eden Prairie, provides a wide array of animal services, working compassionately and cooperatively with pet owners to deliver quality care. In addition to dogs and cats, the hospital treats ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, rats and other small rodents and also provides basic services for small birds. "From routine to extreme, we'll be here for you," says owner Dr. Jim Nelson, whose friendly veterinary practice with Dr. Sven Kohlmyer and a highly experienced support staff includes dentistry, surgery, wellness care, intensive care, imaging, house calls (including home euthanasia services), pet transport and urgent medicine. Grooming and convalescent boarding are also available. Prairie Village features ultrasound and fully digitized x-rays and even makes its own oxygen. Since its establishment in 1984, Prairie Village has been located close to the 5/212 split; Dr. Nelson joined in 1989.
