Founded in 1960, Northview Elementary is a part of Independent School District 196, which operates more than 15 elementary schools. The school serves more than 650 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It offers a program called Character Counts, which provides an opportunity to students in grades one through five to participate in character clubs that focus on character traits of respect, trustworthiness, citizenship, fairness, responsibility and care. Its students participate in discover classes that are designed to embellish thinking skills, creativity, curriculum goals and problem solving skills. The school implements the Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences into each of its offered courses. Northview Elementary is located in Eagan, Minn.
