The Northern Municipal Power Agency (NMPA) is a Joint Action Agency established in 1976 to serve as the wholesale energy supplier for 12 municipal utilities in eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. NMPA, a member of the Minnkota Power Cooperative joint system, owns a significant share of the Coyote Station and the Minnkota Power Cooperative transmission system.
