The Northeast Minneapolis Municipal Iris Gardens (NEMMIG) is a free facility located at Columbia Park in Minneapolis, MN, dedicated to the education, preservation, and research of the genus Iris. Established in 2017 by the Iris Society of Minnesota and community volunteers, NEMMIG aims to study reblooming iris for Minnesota gardens, collect and preserve Minnesota Iris Introductions, and showcase the diverse colors and characteristics of different iris species.
With the support of generous sponsors and volunteers, NEMMIG serves as an educational resource for identifying iris species and varieties that thrive and rebloom well in Zone 4 Minnesota gardens. The gardens, accessible year-round, are situated in the parking lot of Columbia Golf Course and Mansion, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and history of irises in a public setting.
