The Minnesota Valley Action Council (MVAC) is a non-profit organization established in 1965 under the Equal Opportunity Act. Serving the people of Region Nine in Southern Minnesota, MVAC provides assistance in various areas such as affordable housing, transportation, employment and training, and educational opportunities for children. With programs available in Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca, and Watonwan counties, MVAC aims to improve the quality of life for residents in need through the use of federal, state, and local resources.
MVAC operates six main program areas, including support for pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, employment training, energy assistance, housing, transportation, and finances. As a community action agency, MVAC is dedicated to developing resources and opportunities for individuals and communities, helping those in low-wage work and those facing financial challenges. With offices open Monday to Friday, MVAC welcomes donations and offers volunteer opportunities for those interested in making a difference in their community.
