Mohamad Bydon, M.D. is a neurosurgeon at Mayo Clinics Rochester, Minnesota campus, who is fellowship-trained in complex spinal surgery and spinal oncology. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) for a variety of spinal conditions, including back pain and neck pain, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors, spinal deformity, and spinal fusion. He holds clinical expertise in the following areas: complex spinal surgery, minimal access and minimally invasive surgery for spine disease, tumors of the spinal cord and spinal column, spinal deformity, robotic and advanced navigation surgery, spontaneous spinal CSF leak, Chiari malformation, stem cell therapies for degenerative spine disease and spinal cord injury. As a neurosurgeon clinician-scientist, Dr. Bydon is Principal Investigator of the Mayo Clinic Neuro-Informatics Laboratory. The laboratory is focused on data analytics, patient safety, surgical outcomes, and novel therapeutic treatments for spine disease. Dr. Bydon is also Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic Neurosurgical Registry, a database focused on improving outcomes and safety for patients.
