Founded in 1939, Minnesota Medical Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for health-related research, education and service at the University of Minnesota. It raises funds for the University of Minnesota Medical School, School of Public Health, Cancer Center, and related centers and programs of the university's Academic Health Center. It also provides philanthropic counsel to the University of Minnesota Medical Center. The foundation assists the university in various areas, such as public health, bioterrorism, food safety, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and infectious diseases. It works with various affiliate organizations that include the Bob Allison Ataxia Research Center, the International Hearing Foundation and the University Pediatrics Foundation. It is located in Minneapolis.
