History
Shop owner Laurie Crowell got her appreciation for good food with time spent working at Barefoot Contessa in East Hampton, NY, managing a European bakery and cafe in Milwaukee, WI and spending time with Pam Sherman and Harvey McLain at Turtle Bread Company in Minneapolis, MN. In 1996 Crowell started a line of herbed and floral infused vinegars, which spilled into a current line of more than 100 products ranging from amazing salt blends and cocoa mixes to world famous salted caramel sauce and much sought after basil limeade. After 10 years selling her wares at the St. Paul Farmers Market and through specialty locations such as Macy's, Kowalskis, Byerly's etc, she decided to open a shop chock full of local treasures. The Golden Fig has become the go to place for the best local foods, the most amazing gift baskets and the finest customer service.
