History
The Dubliner at 2162 University Ave., in St. Paul was once the ACE BOX BAR. In 1983 the Ace Box was purchased by Tom Scanlon from Co. Kerry Ireland. He converted it to an Irish pub. He features traditional Irish music 4 nights a week. It has been the place to go to discuss world politics, drink a perfectly poured pint of Guinness and learn some traditional Irish dance steps. The pub drews in a diverse crowd of students, working people from the area businesses and Midway neighborhood folks. It has remained a meeting place for many. The patio is green and cozy. Dogs welcome, cats come at their own risk. Pub's large parking lot is accessible from all directions. The light rail is outside the front door. Jump off at the Raymond Ave stop.
