Cornelia Elementary School is one of six elementary schools in the Edina School District, serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. While the entire school district is diverse, approximately 30 percent of Cornelia's student body comes from a background other than Caucasian.
The school is located in the northeast corner of Cornelia School Park, a nearly 10 acre site complete with an ice rink, baseball field and tennis courts. Students take part in Cornelia Cares, a character education program based on the school district's overarching ICCAR values. The school has undergone several renovations since its original construction, including the addition of a northern wing in the early 2000s.
