Stearns County Highway Department
The Stearns County Highway Department, also known as Public Works Department, is responsible for the construction, inspection, maintenance and repair of the Stearns County road and bridge system that is comprised of more than 600 miles of county state aid highways, over 350 miles of county roads and nearly 220 bridges. It also includes the Agricultural Inspector s office, which provides assistance in the regulation of pesticides, fertilizers, screenings and feeds. The highway department has a work force of engineering staff that is responsible for the design and inspection of the county s road and bridge network. Located in Waite Park, Minn., the Stearns County Highway Department supports the Adopt A Highway program.
