History
Started in 2000, ArtiCulture germinated in the minds and hearts of a handful of local artists and community members who felt there was a void in local visual arts programming. ArtiCulture started small and offered children's art day camps and adult classes held in a church basement. After the addition of toddler/preschool classes and expanded educational opportunities for children and adults, ArtiCulture grew rapidly. This necessitated an upgrade so ArtiCulture moved to a storefront in the Longfellow neighborhood. Over time, ArtiCulture started to implement a number of community-based projects and programs. In addition, the former dentist office turned art studio was too small to keep up with our growing number of students. In 2008 ArtiCulture moved to the present location in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. Specialties
ArtiCulture is a non-profit arts education organization offering visual arts classes and workshops for ages 1 year through adults. We also have on-going partnership projects that support community development through creativity as well as outreach programs that aim to increase accessibility to the visual arts. The outcome is experiences for all participants that serve the artistic and social needs of the individual and community.
