The Women's Resource Center has grown tremendously since the humble beginning of the Women's Collective. As the center grew, WRC's services also expanded. Today, WRC offers Individual Short-term Counseling, Workshops and Support Groups, Resources and Referrals, Community Presentations, Community Coordination and Support Services for Women. The Women's Resource Center also coordinates the activities and programs of the Child Abuse Prevention Council for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The two organizations merged in March of 1995. In all of its services, WRC helps women to cope effectively with difficult transitions and avoid the development of drug and alcohol dependency. From the beginning, the philosophy of "Helping Women Help Themselves" has remained strong. The Center continues to be a place for ALL women, regardless of ability to pay, to find the support, assistance and hope to turn problems into challenges and hard times into chances for growth.
