As a master upholsterer, his eye for detail was acute, making him an admiral instructor later for his son-in-law, Sam Snider, founder of Homespun Furniture. Sam's vision exceeded upholstery and custom building, expanding into all aspects of furniture. With his wife Irma by his side, an interior designer and also an accomplished seamstress in her own right, they set up a business that has operated for almost 60 years.
