How Did We Get the Name of Waffle Farm? Well, Waffle is a family name. This farm was purchased in 1861 which makes it a Centennial Farm in Michigan. Myra Waffle, Started the camping business in 1925 with primitive camping and two wooden boats for rent. In 1963 Loyd and Maxine (Waffle) Green erected the first restrooms with 30 electric hookup sites. Since the we have expanded to the present size of 376 sites. The 376 camp sites are spread over more than a mile and a quarter of water frontage and 60 acres of shaded and open areas. The facilities consist of 240 seasonal sites, 30 water front sites (5 with sewer), 80 off lake sites (8 with sewer), and 25 primitive sites. Waffle Farm Campground today is still Family Owned & Operated by William Green and Timothy Green.
