Tri-County Public Defenders is a non-profit public defender office serving citizens in Houghton, Baraga, and Keweenaw Counties in Michigan. Established in 2018, it was formed as a result of reforms to public defense funding passed by the Michigan Legislature, providing citizens accused in criminal cases with a team of three experienced criminal defense attorneys. With a commitment to holistic defense, the attorneys at Tri-County Public Defenders are dedicated to representing their clients' interests through jury trials, motion practice, negotiation, and pretrial services.
Led by Executive Director David M. Gemignani, a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in both private practice and public defense, the team also includes Cameron D. Herrington, an experienced trial attorney, and Mandy Daniels, a case manager and mitigation writer. With a focus on providing the same level of representation as retained attorneys, Tri-County Public Defenders has the resources, support staff, and expertise necessary to effectively represent each and every client, ensuring they receive the best possible outcome in their criminal case.
