Dr. LaLonde is a cardiologist specializing in clinical, invasive and interventional cardiology. He earned his Medical Degree at Wayne State University and completed specialty training at SJHMC from 1983-1989. Prior to his appointment as Chief of the Division of Cardiology in 2008, he served as medical director of the cardiac catheterization lab and director of the interventional cardiology fellowship training program at St. John Hospital and Medical Center. Past appointments include President of the Medical staff from 2004-2006 and Trustee of both the Hospital and Foundation Boards. He currently Chairs the East Region Cardiovascular co-Management Company. Dr. LaLonde has completed special training and is certified in all contemporary interventional procedures. Dr. LaLonde in conjunction with his colleagues initiated the Structural Heart Program and remains an active member of the Transcatheter Valve Team at SJHMC. As an Associate Clinical Professor of medicine at Wayne State University, Dr. LaLonde teaches medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical, invasive, and interventional cardiology. A widely published author in the medical literature, Dr. LaLonde remains very active in interventional cardiovascular research.
