History
The Institute for Higher Learning (IHL) was founded in 1996 by Mayssoun Bydon. Ms. Bydon began providing tutoring and consulting services when she was an undergraduate in the Honors College at the University of Michigan. After achieving a perfect score on both the ACT and LSAT, she realized she had a knack for breaking down standardized tests. She also had a passion for mentoring students and helping them achieve academic success. While in law school at the University of Michigan, Mayssoun spent her spare time developing a proprietary methodology for the LSAT. After formally establishing IHL's Ann Arbor office in 2001, Mayssoun recruited top talent from the nation's leading universities to teach her curriculum. She also brought on Chad Biggert, IHL's Executive Director. IHL quickly built an elite national reputation, garnered strong student interest, and opened a second office in Manhattan in 2007. IHL now has over 40 tutors, consultants and administrative staff, and 2,500 alumni.
