HistoryThe instructors of this dojo have worked with many people over the years but our single longest influence was Sensei Sherman Harrill, who was a direct student of the founder of the style, Shimabuku Tatsuo Sensei. We try to maintain his high standards in each class.SpecialtiesWe teach a traditional Okinawan karate style called Isshin-Ryu. While primarily a striker's art with strong punches and kicks, it includes pressure points, nerve centers, joint locks and traps, throws, traditional weaponry and some ground work. Established in 1984 and in the same location since 1990 in downtown Jackson, Michigan.
