Rockwell Transportation is a subsidiary of Rockwell Medical Technologies, which was founded with four employees in 1995. It started as a manufacturer and distributor of dialysis kits and other ancillary dialysis products. In 1998, the company completed an initial public offering after moving to a new manufacturing plant. Shortly after, Rockwell Medical Technologies added the production and distribution of acid concentrate and bicarbonate to its range of operations. After becoming a public company, it launched two products, Dri-Sate Dry Acid Concentrate and SteriLyte Liquid Bicarbonate. Both products were advancements over the technology in the industry at the time, which made a positive and immediate impact in the dialysis provider market. In 2001, the company opened a bigger manufacturing facility in Grapevine, Texas, which was designed to streamline manufacturing and distribution of all Rockwell products. In 2005, a 60,000-square-foot facility in Hodges, S.C., enabled the company to expand its influence in the Southeastern United States. Rockwell Transportation maintains a location in Wixom, Mich.
