The Otsego County Commission on Aging, also known as OCCOA, promotes the independence and well-being of older adults throughout Otsego County, Mich. Established in 1979, the commission coordinates, provides and initiates various programs. It has an advocacy department that provides foster care, housing, legal assistance, nursing and referral services. The commission also offers support and respite and health care services. In addition, it provides medical transportation, reassurance call and social programs. The commission accepts donations from individuals and institutions. It manages a staff of advocacy coordinators, office assistants, intake specialists and support personnel. The Otsego County Commission on Aging is located in Gaylord, Mich.
