Oakland Community College was established in 1964, and is located in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. It offers degree programs in art and design; computer science, hospitality and public services; health and medical; education and human services; and business, management and law. It also offers certificate programs in landscape design, landscape horticulture, ophthalmic assisting, medical office clinical procedures and welding technology. It also offers distance learning programs. The college has more than 280 full-time faculty members, and has various departments, such as human resources, placement services, student employment and counseling. It also offers various sports, such as cross country, volleyball, soccer, tennis, football, golf and basketball. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a member of the Oakland Literacy Council, American Association of Community Colleges and National Junior College Athletic Association.
