The Mayville State Bank opened its doors in 1885 as the Bank of Mayville in the small rural community of Mayville, Mich. Joseph Eveland, Thomas (T.J.) Eveland and Henry Knickerbocker founded it with Abel Eveland joining in 1891. The Evelands opened the Bank of Fostoria that year, which Abel operated until his death in 1931. The bank s loan programs include vehicles, homes, businesses, commercial real estate, personal real estate and insurance services. Several checking accounts are also available, such as NOW and super NOW, smart checking, regular, club, senior citizen, club NOW and super NOW. Individual retirement accounts are also offered. Other services include direct deposit, wire transfers, safe deposit boxes, automatic teller machine cards, automatic transfers, money orders, travelers checks, notary services, night depository and loan insurance.
