History
Our first retail store began as an artisan gallery in the small beach community of Saugatuck in 2013. We gathered together a group of fellow Michigan artists who wanted to spend more time making art and less time selling. Thus the Made in Michigan Concept was born. We have grown our collection of brick and mortar stores to include a year-round store at Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grand Rapids and two summer seasonal stores in Saugatuck and Mackinaw City. Specialties
We love Michigan, and we hope you do too. We've brought together a collection of the best food, gift, and apparel items to help you celebrate this amazing state. We only offer items that are Made in Michigan because we want to help the makers, studios, and artists do what they do best: create. We want to support our local economies and communities to be stronger together. Our first retail store began as an artisan gallery in the small beach community of Saugatuck. We gathered together a group of fellow Michigan artists who wanted to spend more time making art and less time selling. After a few years, we decided to expand our selection to include small batch hand-crafted gourmet foods, gifts, and apparel and tried a holiday pop up at Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids. The store was an immediate success and we realized there was a huge demand for well made, locally produced products. People love supporting local businesses, and we carefully curate our collection of goods to offer a unique collection of traditional favorites and new makers for you to discover. We have grown our collection of brick and mortar stores to include a year round store at Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grand Rapids and two summer seasonal stores in Saugatuck and Mackinaw City. We encourage you to Shop the Mitten and help us to empower the Michigan makers, creatives, growers, and producers to continue following their dreams and passions.
