Voss Industries Voss Taylor plant began operating in 1968 as a processor of flat rolled steel providing customers with a variety of services, including hydrochloric pickling, special oils, slitting, corrective leveling and testing. Its current capabilities include handling coils from .047 to .250 of an inch gauge, up to 72 inches wide and weighing up to 57,000 pounds. Voss Taylor operates seven days per week, 24 hours a day. Equipment is housed in a 289,000-square-foot facility on 21 acres of land located in Taylor, Mich., near Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. The company serves the automotive, steel distribution, tubing and appliance industries with just-in-time delivery from this southeast Michigan location. A QS 9000/ISO 9002-registered facility, Voss Taylor s annual capacity is 720,000 tons pickling and 300,000 tons slitting. It has 200,000 square feet of inside storage and five acres of outside storage. Voss also has plants in Detroit and Jeffersonville, Ind.
