Knights of Columbus Queen of the Holy Rosary is located in northeast Berkley across the street from the Roseland Park Cemetary.
This particular Council, Queen of the Holy Rosary, of the Knights of Columbus, was founded in 1954 in Oak Park, Mich., and supports three local parishes (Our Lady of LaSalette, Berkley; Our Lady of Fatima, Oak Park; and St. Columban, Birmingham).
The Knights of Columbus organization is a Catholic family fraternal service organization. "Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old."
This church hosts a variety of functions including the Installation of Officers, corn roast, soccer challenge, memorial mass, Christmas party, free throw competition, Easter egg hunt, and Spaghetti dinners throughout the year.
Children's groups are also available called Squires. Squires membership is for Catholic boys, ages 12 to 17 and involves a variety of activities that involve community and educational services. The women's group is called Ladies Auxiliary who support the Knight of Columbus by providing assistance at functions.
The Knights of Columbus Hall is available to rent by calling 248-545-9639. Currently this facility is rented weekly to the Resurrection Mission Baptist Church for an 11 am service by the Reverend Joseph Chatten, Pastor.
