Jackson High School was founded in 1866, and serves more than 1,700 students. Located in Jackson, Mich., the school offers a variety of educational and co-curricular programs to students in grades nine through 12. It is affiliated with Jackson Public Schools and its core curriculum includes physical education, science, social studies, English and arts. Jackson High School has a special education department that provides programs for students with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, and physical disabilities. The school additionally provides technology and computer education, reading, media studies, instructional support, and special and health education programs. Its library offers access to more than 18,000 books and over 70 magazine subscriptions.
