Ionia Public schools is a district comprising Boyce, Emerson, Jefferson, Rather and Twin Rivers elementary schools, and Ionia Middle and Ionia High schools. The district serves more than 3,000 students from various regions in Michigan, including the city of Ionia and the villages of Lyons and Muir. It provides classes to students from prekindergarten through grade 12, and it offers studies in a wide range of subjects, which include English, science, social studies and technical education. It offers a wide range of educational programs, including college preparatory, vocational-technical programs, bilingual, gifted, and special and adult education. The district also offers various volunteer opportunities, including advisory councils, building and district-wide planning teams, parent-teacher organizations and school improvement committees. The district also provides community services and is headquartered in Ionia, Mich.
