IMRA America is a globally active company dedicated to the leading edge in ultra-fast and short-pulsed fiber laser technology for commercial and research applications. IMRA's turnkey fiber lasers combine state-of-the-art design with ultra-compact packaging, high stability and maintenance-free operation. They are designed for use in material research and processing, semiconductor inspection and repair, multiphoton applications, telecommunication, test and measurement, instrumentation and medical diagnostics and therapy. The idea of a global IMRA research and development network was born in Japan and championed by Minoru Toyoda, the honorary advisor to the All Aisin Group. Aisin is Japan's largest, and one of the world's top 10, manufacturers of automotive related components. Its first facility - originally IMRA, Institut Minoru de Recherche Avanc e, and now IMRA Europe S.A. - opened in Valbonne/Nice, France, in 1986. Since then it has expanded to include additional sites in the United Kingdom and Germany. IMRA America was established in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1990.
