History

The HomeGrown story started over a decade ago when owner John learned to home brew after inheriting his son Joe's brewing equipment when he moved to Australia. Fast forward to 2016 when John and wife Marie decided to convert a historical building in downtown Oxford MI into a microbrewery. Add son Jeff as the General Manager and graphic artist for our brand, returning son Joe as Head Brewer (and wife Kate, Media & Advertising) and daughter Katie, Social Media, and you have the beginning of the HomeGrown story. Marie incorporated elements from the family farm house into the decor (old interior doors line the front of the bar), fireplaces and comfy chairs were added, unique barn wood lighting was designed - all to lend a warm, inviting atmosphere. I must say this place has gone downhill as fast as an Olympic skier. I stopped coming in after years of great meals which no longer happen. I think it's been on the decline since 2023.

Rochester Mills Production Brewery

HistoryThe Rochester Mills Production Brewery, LLC (RMPB) is a microbrewery located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit located approximately 20 miles North of Detroit city center. RMPB was founded by Mike Plesz and began producing beer for distribution in the Spring of 2012. RMPB is the exclusive producer of the Rochester Mills Beer Co. brands for distribution. While the Brewpub has primarily been engaged in the brewing and sales of beer on premises (as well as putting out some fantastic food), the RMPB focuses on brewing beer on an industrial-scale with greater capacity, quality control and ability to package and distribute beer through a growing network of wholesalers. Our wholesale partners, in turn, distribute our beer through a variety of retail establishments, including bars, restaurants, casinos, entertainment venues, golf courses, as well as grocery, convenience and specialty stores. The Production Brewery's 46,000 square foot plant and is home to a 50 bbl systemSpecialtiesOut of the way and off the beaten path.
