Head Start is a comprehensive child development and family support program. The child-focused program is designed to increase the school readiness of children ages three through five years old. The program delivers a range of educational, health, nutritional, social and other related services for the enrolled children and families. It primarily offers two program options, such as home-based programs and center-based programs. Head Start is a service of Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency Inc. (NEMCSA), a community action organization that is a part of a state and national network of community action agencies.
