The Hazel Park Police Department is a law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and property, arrests violators of the law, and prevents and deters crime. It maintains an auxiliary police unit that assists the department with disasters, emergency situations and special events. The Hazel Park Police Department also has the Mobile Communication Support Unit (M.C.S.U.), which is an unarmed citizen volunteer unit that helps the police department with the support of city neighborhood associations. The department employs more than 40 full-time, sworn officers, volunteers and civilians. Located in Hazel Park, Mich., the Hazel Park Police Department maintains various specialized units, such as Crime Suppression Task Force (C.S.T.F.), Narcotics Enforcement Team (N.E.T.) and Curtail Auto Theft (C.A.T.).
