History
The Golden Fleece Restaurant opened its doors in the early 70's where the Dionisopoulos family took over on April 8th 1971 and have been serving the best Gyro you can find since then. Nick and Bill Dionisopoulos came to the US in the mid 60's and started off by selling produce to the greeks outside the greek churches and then opened their own greek grocery store called the Apollo market for a few year and then took over the Golden Fleece Restaurant in 1971. As of now the Golden Fleece Restaurant is Detroit's Greektown's Grandfather since it is the longest greek running establishment in the Greektown District.
