Henry Ford Early College is a partnership between Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford Community College that allows high school students to complete its high school education while also earning an associate's or professional degree at the same time. Housed at the Michael Berry Career Center, this five-year program is begun by ninth or tenth grade students and has a different and rigorous curriculum. Students enrolled in the Early College spend four days a week at the HFCC Dearborn Heights campus, with one day spent taking science classes at the Henry Ford Health Systems building near Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Students can elect to participate in the program, but will continue into their junior and senior year, taking classes at HFCC's main campus and at their home high school, only if their grades and test scores remain high. For students who remain in the program and complete it in five years, their associate's degree is fully funded. Students go into such programs as nursing, paramedics, biotechnician and radiology.
