In 1958, Vince and Bea DeGrandchamp bought a small, 12-acre blueberry farm near the shores of Lake Michigan. Over the next 40 years, DeGrandchamp s Farm grew to approximately130 acres of blueberries and 30 acres of cranberries. The farm also operates a retail market where customers can buy fruit right off the bush or in decorative gift baskets. Visitors can also sample the farm s homemade preserves or tour the processing and packaging plant. The nursery division at DeGrandchamp s Farm is one of the leading blueberry nurseries in the country. The nursery also specializes in hardy rhododendrons, azaleas and other ericaceous plants that thrive in winter.
