Berrien County Information Systems Department develops and maintains information processing facilities and services for all Berrien County s agencies and offices in Michigan. The department also provides information processing services on a contract basis to all local government agencies in the county. It serves more than eight county locations with over 750 internal customers. Its network infrastructure is built on Novell NetWare with Windows 2000 servers providing specialized applications. This network is home to its Geographic Information System, Mugshot, Office 97 applications, Internet and e-mail. Berrien County's mission-critical applications reside on the department s IBM mainframe that supports all courts and criminal justice applications and administration and fiscal applications. The customer service team maintains and services county-owned computer hardware and network delivered software, and provides computer related training and consultation to county employees.
